Recorded in assorted living rooms and studios around Brooklyn, but mainly at local favourite the Seaside Lounge and the National's garage set-up, it is a triumph of slow-burning melody and intelligent management, Gabriel Levine – taking a break from his day job as vocalist with Takka Takka – co-ordinating the dozen or so instrumentalists with aplomb."
