"Today CMJ is premiering the video for “Gone,” a dreamy-toned track from Orangefarben. The video, directed by Los Angeles skater Mike Rafter, shows Jules Bee hanging around an Amtrak station, playing on the song’s theme of leaving. Brass Bed Talks to CMJ About Collaborating With Feufollet On Their New Split EP

"I think as a songwriter the big influence for me is sort of looking at the beautiful simplicity of the song and saying “Look how much you can get across with two parts of the song, two melodies.” Putting on a different skin for a minute makes you grow and learn new colors to work with. Brass Bed, at the end of the day, is a power pop/psychedelic band, but we do like to try and keep ourselves diversified in our musical interest, and clearly this was something that was a little bit further than anything that we’ve ever tried. CMJ premiers the Skull Tape video for “Whip My Hair (Drowned In Blood)”

"If you need the case illustrated, Skull Tape has got you covered with its latest video. The project of the Mae Shi member Brad Breeck takes on wee Willow’s track by adding parentheses and comical brutality to the title—“Whip My Hair (Drowned In Blood).” The song is transformed into punk-rap with a crunk Euro dance beat, which doesn’t sound ideal, but makes for amusing viewing. CMJ Gets High On PCP!

That's right... CMJ loves a little hit of the Portland Cello Project and wrote a nice little story on their new album The Thao and Justin Power Sessions that comes out next Tuesday on Kill Rock Stars and their upcoming supporting tour.

The concerts are purposely suitable for all demographics: boogie-ing grannies, head nodding hipsters, budding middle-school musicians and everyone in between because bringing everyone together in a spirit of collaboration only adds to the philosophy of diversity that PCP proudly upholds.
