FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LOCH LOMOND DEBUTS NEW VIDEO FOR “BLUE LEAD FENCES”; SUPPORTS THE DECEMBERISTS ON TOUR, FINISHES NEW FULL-LENGTH
October 27, 2008. Portland, OR: Loch Lomond, long a fixture of the Portland music landscape, is unveiling the debut music video from their upcoming full-length (title TBD), “Blue Lead Fences”, today on both YouTube and the band’s website, www.lochlomondmusic.com.
Shot entirely on Super 8 over a lush August weekend at Milo Mciver State Park in Estacada, Oregon, the video is an eerie lo-fi masterpiece casting the co-ed chamber pop septet as a wayward cult on a determined journey toward a watery end. The directorial debut of music industry veteran and acclaimed photographer Alicia J. Rose (aliciajrosephotography.com), the video is visually arresting — saturated with muted pastels - and haunting in its rhythmic serenity, right down to the moment of doom.
“Blue Lead Fences” is a perfectly-timed video debut, as Loch Lomond is embarking as main support on an East Coast tour with hometown comrades The Decemberists starting on December 5th at Terminal 5 in New York City. The band has just finished recording their newest and as yet untitled full-length at Type Foundry in Portland, with engineer/studio owner Adam Selzer (Norfolk & Western) and producer and Loch Lomond bassist Dave Depper. “Blue Lead Fences” is the album’s first single, and is a gorgeous and dark meditation, replete with staccato violins, soaring choral melodies, and vocalist Ritchie Young’s signature thunderous-then-glassy-fragile leads.
